My Grownup and Me Playtime
Monday mornings at 10 am
My Grownup and Me is a special, unstructured play time for infants and toddlers. The Storytime Room will be open and toys and activities will be provided by the library. Drop in anytime between 10:00-11:00 am on Mondays. Your little one will get to know other little ones! No sign up is necessary. (Playtime is ongoing throughout the year.) For babies and toddlers through 3 years old with an adult. No registration is required.
ABC Storytime (beginning in January!)
Monday afternoons at 1 pm
ABC Story Time is all about the Alphabet, Books and Crafts! We will share stories focusing on one letter of the alphabet. We’ll start with A and work our way through. Ages 2-5 are welcome. Parents will stay to assist with the craft. No registration is required.
Bi-Lingual Storytime (English/Spanish)
2nd Wednesday of each month at 10:30 am **in Youth Services Room**
Join us for a Spanish/English Bi-Lingual Storytime with Mariana Rísquez, a local educator, singer, songwriter, and music producer! Ages 2-8 with adult. No registration is required.
Lap Sit Storytime for Babies
Thursday mornings at 10 am
Join us for a Storytime dedicated to our youngest patrons and their caregivers. Meet other new parents/caregivers just like you! During Lap Sit Storytime, Mrs. C will lead the group in rhymes, songs, and a few short stories for you and your child to interact together. This Storytime is designed to be one on one and developmentally appropriate for children 9 months until age 3. If your child is 3 OR ABOVE, please join us at 11 AM for Family Storytime. No registration is required.
Family Storytime
Thursday mornings at 11 am **in Youth Services Room**
Join us for stories each week! This program is intended for families with children over 3 years of age and families with children of multiple ages including above and under 3 years of age. Families with children under 3 years of age only are welcome to attend our Lapsit Storytime earlier in the day at 10:00 AM. No registration is required.
Snacktivity Storytime
3rd Friday of each month at 11:45 am
Join Miss Gina for a story and following the story we will create a themed snack! Caregiver should stay to assist the child in the snack preparation. Program is intended for children 3 and over. Registration is required. Click here to view the monthly calendar and register!
Storytime with Creature Comfort Pet Therapy
3rd Saturday of each month at 11 am **in Youth Services Room**
Join us for Storytime with a therapy dog from Creature Comfort. Listen to a few stories and hang out with the dogs! Participants will have a chance to sit independently and read to one of the dogs. No registration is required.
**All Storytime and Playtime events will take place in the Storytime Room on the lower level of the library, unless otherwise noted. Please make sure to check the library calendar for specific dates and any cancellations. Click here to visit the Sparta Library Calendar.**

To make sure that each child is getting the most out of storytime, we have the following Storytime Rules:
– Please silence all cell phones and devices
– Grownups: please NO TALKING during storytime (you can socialize before or after, but please not during)
– Storytime is interactive: Please listen, sing, and dance with your child!
– Save any personal toys & snacks until the end of the program
– It’s okay if you need to come in and out as needed! (Breaks, bathrooms, etc.)
– If your child is having a meltdown, please excuse yourselves so storytime isn’t disrupted for other children
